Jobs and Training Event this May
An employment event held in Wolverhampton this week has been hailed a success after hundreds of jobseekers turned up hoping to find work.
More than 250 people visited the event, which was held at Wolverhampton Swimming and Fitness Centre, Bentley Bridge, on May 19, to talk to potential employers and training organisations.
The event, which was hosted by Wolverhampton Learning Partnership, was attended by a number of organisations, including City of Wolverhampton College, Thomas Vale Construction, Bullock Construction, Frank Haslam Milan, Wolverhampton Adult Education Service, Job Centre Plus, Princes Trust, Connexions and Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council, who were all on hand to talk about job and training opportunities.
People were also able to access careers advice and find out how they could boost their job prospects, gain new qualifications, undertake an Apprenticeship or become a volunteer
Rod Sheppard, Director of Wolverhampton Learning Partnership, said: “The event was a huge success and we are delighted with the response we had.
“The feedback we had from employers and those seeking work has been very positive and we hope to run similar events in the future.”
