IT Students Click on to Success
Hardworking computing students are clicking onto success after passing their courses with flying colours.
The 45 students, who have all achieved their IT users NVQ, celebrated their achievements at a special awards ceremony this week.
Among those picking up awards were Rebbecka Collins, Katrina Parry and Ashley Walton, who were named the Students of the Year for their outstanding performance.
School Leader for Business Admin and IT Sue Mincher said: “We are incredibly proud of all of our students this year, as they have not only achieved what they set out to do but also completed additional qualifications on top.
“In fact, so pleased are we with their progress, that next year we will be offering a Level 3 course for the first time. This is a relatively new qualification and will really give our students the edge when applying for jobs.”
Head of Faculty Chris Harding said: “It’s always a pleasure to see students who have done well and we wish them all good luck in their chosen profession.”
“In times like these, when the economy is difficult it’s important that people recognise the value of qualifications. These courses in particular have been very successful in getting people into employment and into better jobs.”
