Jobs and Enterprise Event Welcomes Hundreds of Jobseekers

ImageA special open day this May to help people spring back into employment has been hailed a success after hundreds of people poured through the doors.

More than 375 people attended the Jobs and Enterprise event, which was held at City of Wolverhampton College’s Newhampton Centre campus on Thursday May 20.

The event, which was hosted by the college’s Employability team, was aimed at jobseekers looking for employment opportunities or a change in career direction and budding entrepreneurs looking to set up their own business.

Jobseekers were able to chat to 13 employers and 6 exhibitors about careers in a wide range of sectors, as well as access advice, support and career direction.

Accord Housing Association, who attended the event, said it had been a great opportunity to meet potential care and support workers and staff.

Meanwhile Squeaky Cleaning Specialist Ltd said the event had been a great success with more than 40 people enquiring about vacancies.
