Hundreds of People Expected at Jobs Fair

Hundreds of jobseekers are expected to descend on City of Wolverhampton College when it hosts a jobs and training event this September.

The college is holding the seasonal recruitment event at its Wellington Road Campus, Bilston, on Friday September 10.

At last year’s event almost 1,500 people queued around the block to try and secure one of 400 seasonal posts on offer, and staff are expecting a similar turnout this year.

Angela Hoyle, the college’s Employability Manager, said: “We were amazed at the response we had to last year’s event and have moved to a bigger venue this year in anticipation of the large numbers expected.

“We have more than 25 employers, including H&M, Royal Mail, Magna, Novotel and Carillion, looking to recruit for the festive season and beyond and are urging anyone looking for work to take this opportunity to drop in and chat face to face with local employers.”

The event, which is being organised by the college’s Employability Team in conjunction with Jobcentre Plus, takes place in the college’s Construction Innovation Centre from 10am to 3pm. People are asked to dress smart and bring along their CV.
