The students, who are all studying at either the college’s new Stafford Park campus, in Telford, or King Street, Wolverhampton, paraded their models in front of internationally renowned hairdresser Patrick Cameron at Park House Hotel in Shifnal on July 26.

They were watched by more than 100 stylists from salons across Shropshire and the Black Country.

The students all work as apprentice hairdressers and are employed by local salons. They combine their work with practical and theory training through a flexible learning programme to learn the underpinning theory of their qualification.

The event was organised by City of Wolverhampton College to thank local salons for working with them on their apprenticeship programme.

The student competition was followed by a hairdressing demonstration by Patrick.

Hairdressing Programme Co-ordinator Sue Cole said: “This annual competition is always the highlight of the year for our Apprentices, who really look forward to displaying their best creations in front of some of the country’s top hairdressers.”

“I would like to say a special thanks to all our learners that have taken part in the competitions and produced such a high standard of work.”

Winners received a trip to the Wella Studios in Prague.
