Budding Florists Showcase Their Work
Floristry students from City of Wolverhampton College stopped visitors in their tracks on their open day after designing an array of colourful garden sculptures.
The students, who are working towards their Level Four Higher Diploma in Floristry spent weeks building the designs, ready for the July open day at Cedars Horticultural Centre.
Inspired by the recent warm weather, the students based their designs around the theme of summer ice creams and lollies, and used a variety of techniques including knotting, weaving, layering and gluing. They were sited around the gardens for visitors to enjoy.
Tutor Jane Cowan said: “Our Level Four floristry course is one of only a handful running throughout the country.
“The students really let their imaginations run wild, and their colourful designs really impressed visitors.”
