Student's work featured in Children In Need
Film student Simon Badger is in the second year of his course, but has already seen his work used by the BBC.
Simon, who is currently studying towards his Foundation Degree in Commercial Video Production, was asked to compile a video diary of a 10 hour music marathon in aid of Children in Need.
With two of his classmates, Simon followed three bands from Turner Powertrain as they performed at four venues across the West Midlands.
Their footage was used by the BBC on their local Children in Need coverage.
Simon said: “It was great to go on TV and the BBC contacts will come in useful in our future careers.
Simon, who joined the Foundation Degree programme after completing his National Diploma in Media Production at college, chose the college course because he knew he would get the benefit of facilities both there and at the university.
He added: “The university degree is a lot more theoretical so by doing the Foundation degree first I am getting in some practical experience and gaining the confidence to work with clients.”
Simon, who is hoping to progress on to the full degree, has also been filming a promotional video at Tutbury Castle in Staffordshire, where he interviewed Historian Lesley Smith from television’s Most Haunted.
