City of Wolverhampton College Recognised for Excellence in Hair and Beauty
City of Wolverhampton College has been awarded one of the highest training accolades possible in recognition of its excellent work with employers in the Hair and Beauty sector.
The college has achieved Part B of the prestigious Training Quality Standard for its sector expertise in Hair and Beauty.
Director Georgina Parker and Programme Co-ordinator Susan Cole were presented with the award by British explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes at the Midlands Excellence Awards Ceremony, which were held at The ICC, Birmingham, on February 3.
The Training Quality Standard (TQS) has been developed by the Learning and Skills Council and is awarded to training organisations that put employers' needs at the heart of what they do.
Sue Cole said: “Last year the college successfully achieved both Part A of the prestigious Training Quality Standard, which covers the whole college, and Part B for sector expertise in adult social care, and we are delighted to build on our success with this latest accolade.
“Gaining TQS is a great endorsement of the good work we are already doing with employers and is a guarantee to employers that they will receive top quality training.”
TQS inspectors praised the college’s excellent knowledge of the sector and expertise of staff, commenting in their report: “The college . . . enjoys a good reputation with employers as a provider of quality training.”
They also noted that particular attention was paid towards the individual needs of employers.
The Standard requires providers of learning and development programmes to demonstrate that the training they deliver both satisfies and has a positive impact on the business of the employers with which they work.
It also offers quality assurance for employers as all training providers awarded with the standard, which was developed in consultation with over 600 employers across the country, have to ensure a high level of service delivery.
