Students Showcase Fairtrade Skills
Students from City of Wolverhampton College will be taking centre stage this week when they showcase their new business skills in front of the Mayor.
The six students will be sharing their experiences of setting up a Fairtrade business at the Mayor’s annual Fairtrade Civic Reception in the Mayor’s Parlour on Friday.
The Foundation Studies students, who are all aged between 16 and 18, took over the college’s Fairtrade shop in September and are responsible for stock taking, ordering goods and working behind the stall.
Multifaith Chaplain Paul Benton said: “The Fairtrade shop has gone from strength to strength since the students set up the shop, with all those involved really putting the effort in to make it a success.”
The shop sells a range of Fairtrade products including fruit and cereal bars, fruit juice, sweets and tea.
The students will be giving their presentation in front of local MPs, civic leaders and members of the Wolverhampton Fairtrade Partnership.
