Students Prepare to Experience Life in Europe

Creative Arts students from City of Wolverhampton College are preparing to jet off to mainland Europe to experience life- and work – abroad.

The students, from a range of courses including performing arts, media and music, will be spending two weeks in Florence and Berlin as part of the Leonardo Lifelong Learning Programme.

As part of the foreign exchange programme the 30 students will become fully immersed in the work, life and culture of the country, while enhancing their skills on a work placement.

Their placements are geared towards their future career goals with students working for recording studios, production companies, magazines and arts organisations.

Assistant Head of School for Creative Arts Elke Theissl said: “This is a unique opportunity for students to gain vital professional experience while immersing themselves in a completely different culture.

“This is the third time we have run this programme – last year students spent three months working in Italy – and we are always inundated with applications.”

As part of the programme the college has also welcomed a visit from Irish students.

Students will undergo a crash language course before flying out on April 2 for the two week placement.
