Sergeant Rob Simpson had always wanted to be a Police Officer as the idea of a job with challenges and variety really appealed to him. 
Jo Lavender had always wanted to be a Police Officer but realised life experience was important and so she joined the Probation Service as an administrator. 
Phillip Tedstill had always planned to join the Army, but after listening to a recruitment talk by the Police realised that was what he wanted to do. 
Steve Evans had never thought about a career in the Police, but after completing the college’s Pre-recruitment Access course is now a Public Order Tactical Trainer
Rodney Rose had been in the RAF and after leaving the Service he became an office equipment engineer. After a successful period with the company he decided he wanted a job with better security and more challenging career opportunities. 
Maria Perrin was inspired to join the Police Service after working alongside them while a member of Wolverhampton City Council’s Asylum Seekers Team. 
Pre-Recruitment Access Courses
for West Midlands Police
Have you ever thought about joining the Police? Then consider enrolling on one of our Pre-Recruitment Courses for the West Midlands Police. These courses are run in partnership with West Midlands Police and will prepare you for entry into the Police Service.
All candidates must attend a briefing before they enrol to ensure that they satisfy the basic entry requirements for the service.
Courses are held at the College's Wellington Road campus and are run Saturdays and evenings. For more information click on the course below.
