Operational Services - NVQ Level 2
The Operational Services NVQ Level 2 is suitable for people who work in sport and leisure facilities and who are responsible for providing services such as setting up, taking down and maintaining equipment, cleaning and tidying, customer care, life guarding or plant operation.
Course Details
To achieve the full award, candidates must complete seven units, including three mandatory units and four optional units.
Mandatory units:
- Promote safety in the sport and activity environment
- Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organization
- Contribute to the work of your team
Optional units:
Dependent on your role units will be taken from the following areas;
- Equipment
- Facilities
- Customer care
- Team leading
Entry Requirements
The candidate should be working in the leisure industry.
While there are no formal entry requirements a good standard of literacy is required and prior experience within the leisure industry would be an advantage.
Assessment
To achieve the full award candidates must complete both mandatory and optional units. Like all NVQs, this qualification is competence based.This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks in the workplace. Candidates plan a programme of development with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate they are knowledgeable and competent in their work role.
