Leisure Management - NVQ Level 3
This course covers topics that include: developing and leading teams and individuals, team building, decision making, operational co-ordination, customer service and time management.
Course Details
To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve nine units made up of:
Four mandatory units
- Manage your own resources and professional development
- Provide leadership in your area of responsibility
- Ensure the health, safety, welfare and security of customers and staff
- Work with others to improve customer service
and five optional units for example:
- Contribute to change through implementing and reviewing strategy and policy
- Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
- Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility
- Support the efficient use of resources
- Supervise the maintenance of equipment and facilities
- Contribute to evaluating, developing and promoting services
- Promote equality and diversity in sport and physical training
Entry Requirements
The candidate should be working at a supervisory level within the leisure industry.
While there are no formal entry requirements a good standard of literacy is required and prior experience within the leisure industry would be an advantage.
Assessment
To achieve the full award candidates must complete both mandatory and optional units.
Like all NVQs, this qualification is competence based.This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks in the workplace. Candidates plan a programme of development with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate they are knowledgeable and competent in their work role.
Progression
After the completion of this course students may progress to NVQ Level 4 Leisure Management
