A Level student Richard Jones

Richard Jones decided to come to City of Wolverhampton College to do his A Levels as he wanted somewhere where he would be treated like an adult.

The 18-year-old, who is studying for his A Levels in History, Economics and English Language, said: “I wanted to come somewhere with more freedom and where I could be my own person, but where there was also the support should I need it.

“Coming to college has taught me important more life skills, like how to arrange my own workload and travel. If I have no lessons I can plan my own time and be trusted to put the work in.

“The tutors are all really helpful and the standards of teaching is all really high. The college is great and it’s so welcoming and relaxing. The lessons are enjoyable and I have made some good friends.”

Richard hopes to move on to university to study History and Politics before becoming a journalist.
