Access student Stacey Dudley

In just five years 27-year-old Stacey Dudley has gone from having no qualifications to being on the brink of completing her nursing degree, thanks to the Access to HE course.

Stacey, who left school when she was 14, is now in her third year at the University of Wolverhampton and hopes to move into trauma.

She said: “I think the access course is a great opportunity for older students who have been out of education for a while and want to get back in.

“The course helped with my academic skills and got me back into meeting deadlines and managing my time, while the maths classes were a great refresher.

“I have fond memories of the course and of the tutors who helped get me through it. Without it I would never have got into university as I had no qualifications. It was definitely worth it.”
