Apprentice Luke Pinder
Twenty-year-old Luke Pinder is hoping that his Business Administration apprenticeship will put him in good stead to achieve his ambition of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
Luke, who is Compton Hospice Promotions’ first ever apprentice, said: “I liked the idea of learning at the same time as getting work experience, and felt that a business admin apprenticeship would give me an insight into the business world that would be invaluable as an accountant.
“My duties include helping to prepare the rounds and routes for the Compton Hospice Lottery membership subscription collectors, reconciling the money they have collected and also preparing financial reports. It’s great because being here is teaching me to be meticulous and be really careful in the way I work.
“For me, it’s been better than going to university because it’s given me work experience and a qualification without the financial impact.”
