Bakery student Dave Mason
Dave Mason’s interest in baking was sparked by his mum who’s always done a lot at home and so he decided to pursue a career in the industry.
Having already done a Level 2 diploma in professional cookery at the college, Dave enrolled for a Level 2 diploma in bakery and then progressed to the Level 3 qualification.
Dave, aged 38, who wants to run his own online bakery business in the future, said: “I really enjoyed the course and the college was a great environment in which to learn new skills and prepare for a future career.
“I enjoyed learning how to make biscuits and different types of bread and I got a good sense of achievement when the tray of what I’d made came out of the oven – it was great to see people enjoying what I’d produced!”
