Reuben Williams - L3 bakery

After doing a range of jobs after leaving school, 31-year-old Reuben Williams decided it was time to do something he really enjoyed so enrolled on a Level 2 professional bakery course.

Reuben, who has now progressed to the Level 3 course, said: “When I visited the Metro One campus and saw the bakery and the shop I knew this was the place for me to come.

“I’m learning skills that can’t be forgotten and am really focussed on doing well and opening my own shop in a few years time.

“I’d really recommend coming to college if you want to learn something new, no matter how old you are – it’s fun, exciting, and can be challenging, but it’s equipping me with skills for the future.”

And Reuben put his skills to the test when took part in the Britain’s Best Loaf competition – cooking up a delicious French-style baguette or presentation to the judges.
