Beauty student Sabrina Wootton
Sabrina Wootton has always been interested in beauty and, after being made redundant from her job in a high street shop, decided to come back to college to study for her Level 2 Beauty and Level 3 Spa qualifications.
And her decision paid off as not only did she gain her qualifications, but she has also opened her own beauty business and recently represented the college in the advanced beauty therapy category of the national WorldSkills UK competition, walking away with a prestigious bronze medal.
Sabrina said: “I had a lovely time at college and really enjoyed studying here – the tutors were really supportive and everyone in the class worked together as a team.
“After finishing my course I set up my own business – Amour Therapy – in the Horizons Business and Enterprise Centre in Walsall and am much happier and more fulfilled than I was before.
“And representing the college in the WordSkills UK competition was an incredible experience. I felt very proud to have got to the finals and was shocked to be one of the medal winners. I couldn’t believe it when my name was called out and it feels amazing to know that my skill shave been recognised as among some of the best in the country.”
