Business Admin Apprentice, Zoe Bannister

Former bar worker Zoe Bannister wanted to find a more secure 9 till 5 job with real career progression. After realising she didn’t have the experience needed, Zoe decided to go down the apprenticeship route.

The 21-year, who is now a business admin apprentice for a home care company, said: “The apprenticeship gives me training in the job rather than just a qualification so I’m learning first-hand how a business is run.

“It’s so much more than what I thought it would be. I’m meeting new people and learning a lot more than I expected. I’m organising rotas, working on reception, interviewing and even assisting with care – as a result I’m now doing my Level 3 in health and social care on top of my apprenticeship.

“Apprenticeships are a great option because even if there’s not a job at the end of it I will have a qualification and experience to go out there and impress a future employer.”
