Business student Ria Jenkins

Ria jenkins - L3 business

After doing the first year of the Level 3 diploma in business at another college and then taking a year off to have her daughter, 19-year-old Ria Jenkins came to City of Wolverhampton College in September to complete her qualification.

Ria said: “As I’d already done the first year of the course the tutors here made arrangements for me to just do the second year and have gone out of their way to tailor the course to me so that I don’t have to repeat any modules I’d already done.

“On my first day here I knew I’d made the right decision to come to Wolverhampton – I really look forward to coming to college every day and have recommended it to my 15-year-old sister for when she finished school.”

Ria, who has now been offered a place at the University of Wolverhampton to study for a BA (Hons) in Business Management, added: “I wasn’t planning to go to university but when the tutors said that, based on my results, I’d have the necessary UCAS points I realised that I could do it and was really happy when I got offered a place.”
