Carpentry student Simon Fullwood
Sixteen-year-old Simon Fullwood decided to study carpentry so that he would always have a useful trade skill under his belt.
He said: “My dad was a carpenter and I used to help him out on projects so I have been around it all my life.
“The college facilities are great and there is everything you need. It feels like I have learnt a lot of new things and the projects I used to help my dad with I could now do myself.
“The college has kept me informed about vacancies in the trade and have helped me with my CV.
“With a trade you will always have money as you can do odd jobs for people. I will always have this skill and even if I don’t pursue it as a career it will always be something I can come back to.”
