Catering student Alice Bishton
Alice, who wants to run her own restaurant in the future, said: “We all have to organise a different themed evening and I decided to bring a taste of Spain to Wolverhampton!
“I had to research the tradition and cultures of the country and decide on the dishes I wanted to be served on the night. I chose traditional Spanish dishes – such as patatas bravas and paella – and then worked with a chef from the professional cookery course to develop the menu and see how the dishes could be adapted for people with different dietary needs, such as vegetarians or diabetics.
“I was really excited when guests started arriving for dinner and their feedback on the food and organisation of the evening really boosted my confidence and made me feel proud of what I’d achieved.”
