Hospitality student Stuart Jones
Sixteen-year-old Stuart Jones wants to own his own pub in the future and, after leaving school, enrolled on a Level 2 diploma in food and beverage service to give him the skills he will need to work in the industry.
Stuart, who is studying at the colleges Metro One campus in the city centre, said:” I went to an open evening and spoke to a careers advisor about what I want to do in the future – she advised me that a hospitality qualification would be the best route into my chosen career so I enrolled straight away.
“I’m learning a lot about taking orders and passing them to the kitchen and serving food and drinks to customers at the table.
“Studying at college is very different to school and my confidence has really improved – I’m really glad I came here.”
