Community student Cheryl Whitmore

Cheryl Whitmore enrolled on the college’s Food Safety and Catering Course because, with a young child, she wanted to find out how to keep germs away.

The 22-year-old said: “I wanted an understanding of cleanliness in the kitchen and the different places dirt can gather – such as on the magnetic strips in fridges.

“The course was great. It was very informative and really interesting. Because it was taught at a community location it was quite informal. The tutor was very easy to follow and got us involved in activities. I would definitely recommend it and would even do it again!

“I was really proud to get my certificate and feel I have achieved something major.”
