Employability student Lee Price

After being made redundant from his job as a coach builder Lee Price decided to enrol on the college’s Construction Multi-skills course to learn skills that would help him find work in the industry.

The 36-year-old said: “I have always been interested in bricklaying and ground works but never did anything about it until I lost my job.

“The course is teaching me a lot and it’s really informative. You learn so much in such a short amount of time and the skills I am learning will definitely help me get a job. I have only been at college six weeks and I can now build a wall and lay block paving.

“The teachers are phenomenal. My current lecturer teaches in a fun way that makes it easy to remember.

“I think there should me more courses like this as it’s a great way to learn a trade and get into the construction industry.”
