Employability student Liz Chetwood

Twenty-six-year-old Liz Chetwood has been offered a Health and Social Care apprenticeship after completing a six week programme run by Accord Housing in partnership with the Job Centre and college.

She said: “I had been asking the job centre to put me on a course like this for a while because I didn’t want to be on the dole – I like to work and earn my keep.

“I come from a very diverse and caring family – I have an autistic cousin and have dyslexia myself, so wanted to work with adults with learning disabilities because it’s something close to my heart.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better course and I’m sad it’s come to an end. I have made some fantastic friends and it’s really opened my eyes to the industry.”
