Former Foundation Degree student Hannah Westwood
Within five days of graduating with distinction from her Foundation Degree in Supporting Children in Primary Education Hannah Westwood had got a job as a Teaching Assistant.
The 31-year-old, who now works in a unit assessing hard to place secondary school students, said: “I had never considered this kind of work, but the course made me aware of the different avenues I could take as well as the confidence to apply for the position.
“It felt more comfortable coming to college than going to university, and seemed less daunting for a mature student.
“The support I got from my tutors was brilliant and I am still in contact with them now.”
