Former Games Development student Jonathon Ridgeway
Since leaving college former student Jonathon Ridgeway has set up his own games development company with eight of his friends.
The 23-year-old, who studied Games Development Level 3 at college before moving onto university, is Creative Director at Rebourne Studios in Bournemouth.
He said: “I enrolled on the college’s Games Development course after two years in sixth form at school. I found it really hard to get motivated while at school so when I started at college decided to do a subject I had a real passion for. The course was very broad which helped me realise what I wanted to do as a career and where my strengths lay. The tutors were great and really believed in you. I got good grades and it was a real confidence booster.
“In my third year at university I had to go on a work placement. Because of how unique the industry is myself and a group of friends set up our own company instead. We have been working on a role play game Rite of Life which has been entered into the Dare to be Digital competition for university students.”
