Former Travel student Giorgia Abrowka

After completing her Travel and Tourism qualification former student Giorgia Abrokwa jetted off to sunnier climes to experience the Spanish way of life.

The 23-year-old spent two months teaching English in a school in Coruna in North West Spain, learning the language and living like a local as part of the Gecko Erasmus+ Programme.

She said: “The experience was amazing and an experience I will not forget. I learnt a lot about myself and really gained more independence, learning how to communicate in a city where they hardly spoke any English.

“Completing my Travel and Tourism course and then going straight to work abroad was one of the best decisions I ever made. I really thank my tutor Wendy for showing me the email about the programme and for all the encouragement. I am really grateful for the opportunity and it’s something that I will cherish with me forever.

“It’s made me even more focused to travel and work in different countries and explore the world to its fullest!”

Giorgia has now started applying to airlines to continue her career in the travel industry.
