Foundation Degree in Early Years student Tracy Hill
As a family support worker in a children’s centre 32-year-old Tracy Hill works with families in the community and enrolled on the two-year part-time Foundation Degree in Early Years to improve her skills and knowledge to ensure she can support them in the most appropriate way.
Tracy said: “As part of the course we have covered child development and children and families in society which relates directly to my role so this has been extremely beneficial, and learning about how to become a reflective practitioner has been very useful – it’s made me look at the way I do things and how I can improve to better support the families I work with.
“I chose to do the course at the college rather than at university because of its good reputation and after reading about how it is continually improving. And because I’m fitting studying around a full-time job and family commitments, being local means that I don’t have to travel all the way over to Walsall as I would have to do if I’d opted to do the course at the University of Wolverhampton.”
