Futures Internship student Seranne Behenna
All the hard work put in by Seranne Behenna during a Futures Internship placement at Wolverhampton Art Gallery earned her a formal thanks from the Mayor of Wolverhampton.
As part of the programme Seranne looks after paintings and artefacts, as well as greeting visitors to the gallery and takes them on tours of the building.
Seranne, aged 19, said: ”I like working at the Art Gallery as the staff are very helpful and supportive. I’ve learnt so much here and am very happy because now I’ve got the confidence to go to work on my own.”
Futures Internships are part of the wider Futures programme – aimed at young people with special educational needs and/or an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) – which provides a safe and inclusive curriculum which will also enhance their life skills and develop their abilities to help them move towards living independently
