GCSE Science student Carmela Walker
Carmela Walker decided to retake her GCSE Science exam at college so that she would have the grades she needed if she decided to become a teacher.
The 27-year-old, who achieved a B grade, said: “I have just finished my Level 2 Teaching assistant course and secured a job within a school. If I want to progress on to teaching in the future I will need my C grade in Science, so decided to work towards that at the same time.
“The college has been really good and I looked forward to coming in – it wasn’t something I dreaded doing.”
