HE student Daniel Rose
Working as a learning support assistant sparked Daniel Roses’ interest in teaching and he signed up for the Level 5 Certificate in Education /PGCE course to become a qualified tutor.
Daniel, aged 27, who now works for the college as a volunteer life skills teacher, said: “The course has shown me how to get the best out of my lessons and to ensure that my teaching is student-centred.
“The first year covered the practical skills of planning and assessment and the second year has focused on the wider side of teaching, such as curriculum planning and development and the use of e-learning.
“I’m definitely more confident in the classroom now and feel that I can hold my own with other professionals as I know that my knowledge is up-to-date – I’ll be qualified at the end of the year and that’ll be awesome!”
