Health and Safety student Michael Hodds

Health and Safety course

Michael Hodds enrolled on the college’s Level 5 Occupational Health and Safety course to help him progress in his career into more managerial positions.

The Health and Safety Advisor said: “My position requires only NEBOSH General Certification, however, this qualification formally quantified my working knowledge and understanding to a much higher level, while enhancing the quality of health and safety advisors available for my current employer and its employees. It also made available the next level of management roles within my organisation.

“I needed to find a provider that was part of the military Enhanced Learning Credit scheme, which the college was. The ability to engage professionally, communicate appropriate and effectively and listen to my needs made my decision very easy in selecting City of Wolverhampton College as my preferred choice.

“The delivery of sessions was first class. It was aimed at my level of understanding, and was engaging, with the reassurance that support was always available.

“When required the assistance given both by my lecturer and administration support was prompt and inclusive.”

Michael is now hoping to move on to a degree level qualification.
