Hospitality student Natalie Jackson
Natalie Jackson wants to own her own restaurant in the future and enrolled on the Level 2 diploma in food and beverage service as the first step to her dream career.
Twenty-nine-year-old Natalie said: “The course sounded really interesting when I read about it on the website, but what really attracted me was the opportunity to work with real customers in the restaurant as it’s a great way of getting work experience and learning at the same time.
“We’re learning how to lay tables, set up the bar and serve customers correctly, as well as counting the daily float and cashing up at the end of the say. But my favourite bit is working with the customers and it feels great when you get positive comments from them.
“I thought it was too late for me to go back to studying but I was wrong –this is what I want to do and I’m feeling very positive about the future.”
