Motor Vehicle apprentice Edd Bradley
Twenty-four-year-old Edd Bradley has always been interested in cars and his motor vehicle apprenticeship is enabling him to learn new skills at college, put them into practice at work and get paid for doing something he really enjoys!
Edd, who is an apprentice at AF Smart Repair in Coseley, attends college one day-a week to study for his Level 2 diploma in body repair and paint and uses the skills he learns on the course back in the workplace.
He said: “The course covers panel beating and filling, and spray and painting techniques and, whilst I already do this at work, the new techniques I’m learning save time and are therefore more economical for the business and the customer.
“If I’ve got any questions about things I’m doing at work I can ask the tutors and then use this knowledge back to the garage. I feel more confident at work now and my employer is impressed which is great!”
