Motor Vehicle apprentice Jamie Bullock
Working as a Saturday boy in his local garage fired up Jamie Bullock’s future career as he carried on working for the company after finishing school and is now on a motor vehicle apprenticeship.
Having done a Level 2 diploma in light vehicle maintenance and repair at the college last year, Jamie is now studying for a Level 2 in body refinishing.
Jamie, aged 21, who is an apprentice at Highley Garage, near Bridgnorth, said: “The garage does MOTs, repairs and some basic paintwork and my boss decided that it would be good for me to do a body refinishing course which will enable him to expand the business.
“An apprenticeship is great because I can use the techniques I’m learning at college back at work. The workshops are very well equipped just like in a professional garage, the tutors are very helpful, and I’m getting lots of practical experience.
“Every time I do something I improve and it’s good to see the progress I’ve made and what I can accomplish.”
