Motor Vehicle apprentice Jason Castree

Seventeen-year-old Jason Castree is on the road to a future career in the motor vehicle industry after securing an apprenticeship at a local garage.

Jason, who is combining working at the garage with studying for the Level 2 diploma in light vehicle service and repair at the college’s Paget Road campus, said: “Studying at college is much better than school.  The tutors treat us like adults and the facilities in the workshop are good.

“If you’re interested in working with cars it’s a good course to do as you learn the correct way of doing things and an apprenticeship gives you lots of hands-on experience in the workplace as well as studying at college.”
