Performing Arts student Mimi Amore

Former performing arts student Mimi Amore is dazzling the audiences as one of the UK’s leading burlesque artists.

The 24-year-old, who started at the college eight years ago, was crowned British Newcomer at the World Burlesque Games 2014. She is now being recognised on the cabaret scene in Europe and making her name internationally.

Mimi takes her inspiration from old music hall, physical theatre and traditional strip tease.

She said: “I found the college experience very nourishing. It helped me grow in confidence and explore different aspects of performing arts such as physical theatre and straight acting.

“The tutors were fabulous and would always support you if you needed anything.

“The college helped by giving me a stepping stone and preparing me for what was to come in the performing world. It was a great course and a great starting point.”
