Professional cookery student Brandon Timms

Brandon Timms - Level 2 professional cookery student

Sixteen-year-old Brandon Timms wants to be a chef in the future and joined the college in September as his school’s sixth form didn’t offer a cookery qualification.

Brandon, who is studying for a Level 2 diploma in professional cookery at the college’s Metro One campus in the city centre, said: “I chose the college as it’s a professional environment in which to train and having the on-site Academy restaurant means that I’ve been getting experience in a real working environment from the start of my training.

“It feels great when I see customers eating the food I’ve prepared and I’m confident that I’m going to gain the skills I’ll need to work in a restaurant and have a successful career in the future.”
