Sports Student Jordan Pembleton
Seventeen-year-old Jordan Pembleton is the volunteer Sports Officer for the college’s Students’ Union, and her job is to encourage more young people to take up sport.
Jordan, who is also studying for her Sports BTEC Extended Diploma, said: “I liaise with the sports department and the union to try and get more people involved in sport and competitions. I have also helped organise a cross college volleyball tournament and an event called Fit Games in which we host a number of different sports tournaments over one day.
“My role as Sports Officer has prepared me for future job opportunities as I have learnt how to liaise with different people and respond to what they want. It has also helped improve my time management skills.”
Jordan hopes to move on to university next year before becoming a PE teacher.
