Technical Theatre Apprentice Emilia Dyke
Technical Theatre apprentice Emilia Dyke wanted a career working backstage, but knew she needed to improve her skills to get her foot on the ladder.
The 18-year-old said: “I knew I wanted a career working back stage but also knew I needed to improve my skills.
“University wasn’t for me, as I’m quite hands on and learn by doing, so the apprenticeship was ideal.
“I’m really enjoying it. It’s very varied and I’m doing things I have never done before such as operating the fly system above the stage that controls the scenery.
“The apprenticeship has helped me consider different areas of technical theatre and it’s been a great opportunity to learn the skills of the industry from the people who are working within it.”
