Traineeship student Chloe Sheridan

Eighteen-year-old Chloe Sheridan was delighted to gain a job as an apprentice after completing a traineeship at college.

Chloe, who now works in a nursery while gaining her childcare qualification at college, said: “I decided to do a traineeship because I had no experience and only had entry level and functional skills qualifications. I had been applying for jobs but never hearing anything back.

“I really enjoyed the course. I did a four month placement in a nursery, which helped me realise how much I enjoyed childcare.

“The traineeship really helped me improve my maths and English. It got me out of my comfort zone and as a result my confidence improved massively.

“I had never done anything like this before but everyone was really friendly and as soon as I started I realised it was going to be a good thing to do. It was great to get an apprenticeship at the end of it.”
