Work Skills Student Emma Walker

Emma Walker, aged 22, enrolled on the college’s Adult Work Skills course after being unemployed for six years. After completing the course she was delighted to be offered work in a care home.

Emma said: “I left school at 16 and started a few different courses but I was young and stupid and never completed them.

“The Job Centre sent me on this programme and I thought it was going to be the same as every other course I had been on.

“However, the tutor really helped me improve in confidence and found me a work placement in a care home. This is the first course I have ever completed and if it wasn’t for Will I wouldn’t have a part-time job now.”
