Process Engineering Apprenticeship with Mann & Hummel, Wolverhampton

Duties include:
•Ensuring scrap levels throughout the plant are minimised and continually improved on existing and new products.
•To review plant layouts to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness.
•Introduce successfully new products into the business and ensure process capability.
•To ensure departmental adherence to procedures and continuously improve them.
•Support all relevant elements in the QM system, to ensure QS9000, VDS 6.1, accreditation.
•Fostering and promoting team working with relevant departments within a framework of continuous improvement/MMS to the quality management and MANN+HUMMEL (UK) LTD visions and values.
•To promote the ethos of safe working in all areas of the business.
•Reduce the number of non-value added operations performed within manufacturing processes.
•To ensure an acceptable level of preventative maintenance is actioned for both the equipment and tooling.
•To evaluate and take responsibility for the economic use of sub contract labour used within the above departments.
•To ensure that other MHUK departments provide a satisfactory service to the above departments.
•To provide regular management reports that encompass all areas of project and shop floor performance in a processional and timely manner.
•Monitoring process/machinery with authority to close them down if product quality, procedures and/or work instructions are not complaint with laid out standards.
•To work closely with engineering, quality and production personnel in the introduction of new products and the improvement of existing ones.
