Andrea, who is a business and innovation apprentice at DENSO Manufacturing UK Ltd, won not one, but two awards in our virtual end -of-year celebration!
After being nominated for a Rising Star award by her employer, she was one of two winners in this category, and was also achieved the ultimate accolade of being names Apprentice of the Year 2021 – what a fantastic achievement!
Take a look at what Andrea’s employers said in their award entry and you’ll see why our judging panel was so impressed too!
“Andrea is a highly-valued member of the team and has settled in extremely well. Feedback from managers and mentors has been extremely positive and she is already working above the expected level for an apprentice.
“She has successfully completed a number of value-add projects, seeing these through from start to finish and, alongside project work, has taken on additional tasks whist also excelling at college work.
“Her communication, time management and collaboration skills are excellent, and she has performed well against a range of competences including adaptability, problem-solving, initiative, foresight and credibility.
“Andrea communicates well within the team and other departments, works effortlessly with all levels of the business from management to associates on the shop floor, uses her new-found skills to propose potential solutions to problems encountered and take it upon herself to research and understand any aspects of a project that she may not fully understand.
“Her work is very thorough, and she always meets and goes beyond expectation which is reflected in her day-to-day work, her project work and her college work.
“She automatically takes a leadership role in team activity, and acts as a point of contact for weekly apprentice utilisation reports – a role she took on herself – and has completed an in-house leadership development programme to develop her knowledge and skills in managing others.
“Andrea acts as a role model for other apprentices and her caring and helpful nature means they feel they can go to her for help, guidance and support.
“Her ‘can-do’ professional attitude means that she has made a great impression on those she works with, and her sills, knowledge and behaviour have been difficult to fault – she is a natural leader and shows great potential within the company.”
Many congratulations, Andrea!
