The Civil Service covers a wide range of government departments - including the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Department for Digital, Cuture, Media & Sport (DCMS), Department for Education (DfE), Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), Department for International Trade (DIT), Department for Work & Pensions (DWP,  Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), HM Land registry, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), Home Office, Ministry of Defence (MoD), Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and the National Crime Agency (NCA).
You will learn about basic management techniques, business environments, finance, marketing, international business and management, as well as learning about national and global organisations human and technological resource planning, marketing strategies, digital marketing and event planning, as well as starting a small business and ebusiness organisations - and will consider how all of these elements relate to civil service organisatrions
This course is the first year of the two-year Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business and Civil Services - successful completion of the foundation diploma will enable you to progress to the second year extended diploma.
