Fundamentals of BIM (Building Information Modelling) City & Guilds Level 3

This short course is aimed at anyone with a basic knowledge of CAD who wants to develop to the next step of 3D modelling using Revit. This course runs for four days over two weeks.

To access this course you are required to have:

  • Four or more GCSEs at grade C or above, one of which should include IT

During this course you will learn the following:

  • Developing wall structure
  • Developing foundations
  • Developing roof structure
  • Developing floor structure
  • Developing doors and windows
  • Developing Internal wall structure and doors
  • Working with geometry
  • Working with massing objects and developing inspirational building designs along with curtain wall glazing, multiple floors, stairs and handrails

By studying this course you will:

  • Develop your understanding of Autodesk Revit
  • Learn how Revit differs from traditional 2d and 3D AutoCAD
  • Develop an appreciation for the whole life cycle of the building
  • Develop your confidence in dealing with other parts of the construction industry and BIM related projects
  • Understand how government is pushing the agenda and how it is being applied in the Construction industry
  • Improve your BIM skills

You will be continually assessed by work completed as part of the course.

The skills you will learn from this course will enable you to pursue a career in Construction BIM.
