Candidates should have been employed within an injection moulding environment for a period of no less than 2 years and have significant experience of the process requirements from a direct role within an Injection Moulding operation. Ideally, candidates should have attended and passed the Injection Moulding Technology Level 2 course prior to attending the practical assessment.

Candidates involved in the routine tool changing, setting up and processing of existing production requirements.

During the assessment, the delegates will be expected to:

  • Load a mould tool into the machine in accordance with safe working practices
  • Connect all required services from information provided
  • Enter pre-determined machine setting conditions
  • Conduct full safety guard checks
  • Purge machine to instigate production start up
  • Adjust machine conditions to achieve quality and output rate requirements
  • Produce samples for approval
  • Purge out, shut down and fully isolate machine and all ancillary equipment
  • Ensure work area is left in an appropriate condition
  • In addition, complete the IMT2 test if not undertaken within the 2 years prior to attending the assessment.
